Discussions From The National Association for Language Professionals Meeting in Illinois
Last December, I hosted a symposium on the topic of translation at the National Association for Translation Professionals Meeting in Portland. My goal for the gathering was to talk, linguist-to- linguist, about the manner of translating in a meeting atmosphere and to cover the types of tools that are required to give a translation solutions. The topic seemed to resonate with many of the members, and over the next few weeks, I got a number of e-mails from similar translators and instructors who were in attendance at the event. It was clear that hundreds language teachers had enthrallment in interpreting but didn’t have the electrical training to understand where to begin.
