MTV Unplugged in New York $5.36 The last Nirvana collection recorded before the untimely death of Kurt Cobain, Unplugged caught many by surprise with its stripped down, neo-acoustic offerings with a bridled fury. When Cobain sings, “I swear I don’t have a gun, I don’t have a gun” with clenched teeth (instead of an open howl) and when the haunting strains of “About a Girl”–from their earliest LP–chills even with quieted guitars… |

Harry Potter Vs . Twilight -- Who Took Home More Golden Popcorns At The 2011 MTV Movie Awards?
The 2011 MTV Movie Awards kicked off last June 5, 2011 at Los Angels, California. The show was hosted by Saturday Night Live (SNL) comedian Jason Sudeikis. Lots of personalities from the movie industry as well as those from the music world, filled and added hotness to the event. Some of the presenters include Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Ashton Kutcher, Chris Evans, and Elle Fanning.
The vampires and werewolves of the Twilight film series defeated the wizards and witches of Harry Potter as the franchise took home five awards that include the Best Movie award for Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Danielle Radcliffe and Emma Watson of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 laid low as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took home the Best Male Performance and Best Female Performance for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, respectively. But, it is not a total loss for Harry Potter fans out there because Tom Felton grabbed the Best Villain award for his performance at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 as the Death Eater Draco Malfoy.
The most surprising moment in this award ceremony was probably when Taylor Lautner, the hunky werewolf Jacob Black, received a kiss from Robert Pattinson, the scorching vampy Edward Cullen, when the latter and his leading leady Kristen Stewart won the Best Kiss award for their movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Were you surprised as well? Girls, don't worry, Taylor and Robert are straight.
The official release of the first trailer for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 was yet one of the highlights of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. It was full of exciting scenes including the anticipated wedding of the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. I can't wait till November 18, 2011 comes. Thank you so much 2011 MTV Movie Awards for sharing us the sneak peak of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.
The following are the champs of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards:
MTV Generation Award - Reese Witherspoon

'Til Tuesday Members $8.5 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher's book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Not illustrated. Excerpt: Aimee Mann (born September 8, 1960) is an American rock guitarist, bassist, singer, and noted songwriter. Aimee Mann grew up in Bon Air, Virginia, graduated from Midlothian High School and attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, but dropped out to sing with her first punk rock band, the Young Snakes; the band released the EP Bark Along with the Young Snakes in 1982, and a compilation album was issued in 2004. In 1983, seeking a return to "sweetness and melody", she co-founded with Berklee classmate and boyfriend Michael Hausman the new wave band 'Til Tuesday, which achieved success in 1985 with its first album, Voices Carry. The title song is said to be inspired by Hausman and Mann's breakup. The producer, Mike Thorne, in a March 1999 article disputes this and states the lyrics originally had Mann singing to another woman. The gender was changed due to pressure from the record company. The video became an MTV staple, winning the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, although Mann's then-signature spiky hair would lead some to dismiss the group. Mann was featured on the Rush song "Time Stand Still" (from Hold Your Fire, 1987) which became a minor UK hit, singing backup vocals and appearing in the music video. Her laughter is also heard at the start of "Force Ten," from the same album. With Mann playing an increasingly important role in songwriting, 'Til Tuesday released two more albums, Welcome Home and Everything's Different Now. On their final tour, musician Jon Brion joined the band, which broke up in 1990 when Mann left to start her solo career. Around the time of the first album's release, Mann began a romantic relationship with Jules Shear; they broke up before the final 'Til Tuesday album, which contained ... More: |
