Rated: NASynopsis: Frank Zito (a career performance by co-writer/ co-executive producer Joe Spinell of Rocky and The Godfather fame) is a deeply disturbed man, haunted by the traumas of unspeakable childhood abuse. And when these horrific memories begin to scream inside his mind, Frank prowls the seedy streets of New York City to stalk and slaughter innocent young women. Now Frank has begun a relationship with a beautiful photographer (Caroline Munro) of The Spy Who Loved Me), yet his vile compulsions remain. These are the atrocities of a human monster. This is the story of a Maniac.Experience Maniac like you’ve never seen or heard it before. Directed by William Lustig (Maniac Cop, Vigilante) and featuring landmark gore effects by Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead), this notorious classic was censored all over the world for its graphic violence and remains banned in England and Germany to this day. But Maniac is more than just one of the most relentlessly depraved films of our time; it is quite possibly one of the most disturbing horror movies ever made.

Free Online Poker Lesson On How To Counter Loose Aggressive Maniac Poker Players

You have managed to get to the flop with a good hand but what next? For most of us postflop play is the weakest part of our game. A key part of postflop play (as with preflop) is knowing the type of players you are up against and playing specifically to counter their style.

In poker, there are 4 different styles of player (tight/loose) + (passive/aggressive). In the free poker and online nanostakes (.02/.05 blinds), each of these player types make a few key mistakes. In this free online poker lesson we'll look at how to exploit the Loose-Aggressive style player.

Loose-aggressive (LAG) “maniac”
These are the guys who are betting and/or raising way too often. They will commonly continue bet (bet flop after raising preflop) nearly all the time and typically bet turn and river way too much (keep in mind that long term you hit about

The trick to playing these guys is to realize that their range in any given spot is extremely wide. What this means is that if you flop second or third pair, calling their bets and raises is often hugely profitable because they're betting repeatedly with absolutely nothing so often.

They're somewhat difficult to play against because it takes a lot of guts - calling 3 streets (each a relatively large bet, usually) with third pair weak kicker is not particularly easy, but you have to realize that against some of these guys third pair is basically the same as top pair and so you just shouldn't fold.

That doesn't mean to always call down any pair against these players (because there are varying degrees of maniacs; some players will really be betting and raising 100% of the time while others are betting and raising too often but not extremely so).

Another thing to note is your draws (and as a result, suited and connected hands preflop) shoot up in value since if you hit your draw you'll often get paid back very nicely (this is a concept known as implied odds, but I'll leave that subject for now and cover it later.).

So ultimately against these players pair hands go up in value and draws go up in value. Pay attention at the tables to get a good feel for a player's range (is he a true spewing maniac, or is he just hyper-aggressive) and try to make these profitable “thin” (not super easy) calldowns against these players.

In general, you should also be waiting for the river to raise these players with your strong hands because they're going to be betting all 3 streets anyway; you lose lots of value if you raise flop or turn and get them to fold.

Do always remember that there are levels of player types. Some styles share traits with the most closely related group, TAGs with LAG bits, TPs that lean toward LPs and so on, so keep your wits about you and adjust your play per opponents using player style models as a tool to guide observation and decision making.

Unfortunately learning how to identify and then make use of known player styles is hardly an exact science. Yes, sorry to say, plenty of practice is required though if you really focus on this and keep good game notes it will come faster for you. If you're new to poker do not risk much or even any cash as you learn.

Kick off by playing micro stakes or free online poker games and slowly work your risk levels up. For a full version of this article with all 4 player types covered and some advanced postflop play tips see the free online poker games blog at NoPayPOKER.
