Happy, Healthy Halloween

Halloween is a fabulous time for youngsters. They have lots of fun with parties and with trick-or-treating. The issue for mothers and fathers is deciding what to do with those gigantic trick-or-treat bags full of candy and sweet treats. In this post are some pointers that may help you to regulate your children's consumption of treats this year, while still permitting them to enjoy mouth-watering dark chocolate.

Serve your youngsters a healthy meal before trick-or-treating. If they don't seem to be hungry, your youngsters will be less sure to gorge themselves on candy when they get home. Once you've checked the treats for safety, allow your youngsters to enjoy some of their Halloween candy when they have finished trick-or-treating. Make sure to pick out all the dark chocolate candies your youngsters receive and hold on to them. Dark chocolate is a healthy food that helps prevent heart disease. Give or dump the remainder of the candy.

You put all the dark chocolate treats into a high cabinet in your kitchen or pantry. Out of view, out of mind, and then you can control how many treats your youngsters get to eat over the following few days. Divide up the leftover candy to be eaten a touch at a time. You will need lunch-sized paper bags, tape or a stapler, and maybe some markers or pens. Place either 2 to 3 tiny treats or one large treat into each bag. Tape or staple the paper bags closed and keep them in a massive box or bag. Let your youngsters pick out one bag everyday . Or, each bag can be marked with a day or date for the following week or two. Your kid gets the treat bag that's marked for every day.

Do not buy Halloween candy early or you may con yourself and your children to eat too much before the trick-or-treating even starts. Promote a healthy Halloween by distributing alternative choices to sugary candy. Give out individually packed non-sugary treats like dark chocolate mixed with nuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, or chips.

You may like to host a Halloween party for your children. That way you have some power over what your children eat. Include flavonoid-rich dark chocolate, fresh vegetables and dips, or baked chips and crackers.. Serve warm apple cider and water rather than soda. This Halloween, you can give the treat of health to your family and to your neighborhood.
